These boxes are listed by Underwriters Laboratories and Canadian Standards Association as Type 4. They are suitable for use indoors, outdoors, or where subject to rain, dripping, splashing water, or hose-directed water

Cast metal enclosure means one piece construction. No spot-welded seams like those found in formed sheet metal boxes

Greater mechanical strength. Thicker walls make them more suitable for drilling and tapping at the factory or in the field

Cast metal enclosures will provide long life, are inherently corrosion resistant, are able to withstand more mechanical abuse and have the lowest initial cost

Mounting lugs are provided on all surface mounted boxes. Boxes up to 12” x 6” have 2 mounting lugs. Larger boxes have 4 mounting lugs. All mounting lugs will be located on the long sides of the box, unless otherwise specified

Watertight boxes (NEMA Type 4) are constructed to prevent the entry of water under extreme conditions of weather
