Description
3M Tubing & Molded Parts, catalog number 8428-18, is a black EPDM rubber product designed for insulation, mechanical protection, and repair applications. It has an overall length of 18 inches (457.2 mm) and a maximum operating temperature of 90 ℃ (194 ℉). This splice has a cold shrink design and is suitable for low voltage applications up to 1 kV. It accommodates a range of conductor sizes, from 500 kcmil to 800 kcmil (or 405 mm² to 400 mm²). The relaxed tube length is also 18 inches (457.2 mm), and it can be used with power cables that have non-shielded, tape shield, UniShield®, or wire shield configurations.
