3M Cold Shrink Splices (Catalog Number: 8043-1) are black EPDM Rubber splices suitable for cable connections. They can be used with cable types that have rubber insulation and no shielding. The splices are capable of accommodating conductor sizes ranging from 4 AWG (25 mm²) to 1/0 AWG (50 mm²). They are designed for medium voltage applications with voltage ratings of 5 kV and 8 kV. The splices have a maximum recommended voltage rating of 8 kV and a minimum recommended voltage rating of 5 Kilovolt. They can handle a maximum cable outside diameter of 1.8 inches (45.7 mm) and have an insulation outer diameter of 1.8 inches (45.7 mm).
