RDA Towers

RDA towers are self-supporting industrial communication towers used to deploy SCADA systems, telemetry equipment, and other wireless monitoring and control networks. These towers are manufactured by RDA Solutions, LLC, and are used to mount omni-directional antennas and Yagi antennas used in industrial radio communication networks. RDA towers are commonly used at well sites, pipeline monitoring points, and other remote locations where wireless communication is needed between field equipment and a central control point, such as oil & gas wells, water & wastewater facilities, and public utilities.

RDA towers are built to withstand the environmental conditions of field locations, including high wind speeds, high and low temperatures, and lightning strikes. They are used to lift the level of an antenna, in order to clear nearby obstacles such as buildings, hills, trees, and other obstructions that can limit radio communication. Raising the level of an antenna using a RDA tower can increase the distance of a wireless communication signal, making the signal more reliable for industrial radio systems operating at 450 MHz, 900 MHz, and other frequencies used in telemetry communication.

FAQs

What are RDA towers used for?

RDA towers are used to mount wireless communication antennas for industrial radio systems, SCADA networks, telemetry equipment, and remote monitoring installations.

Why are communication towers important in wireless networks?

Communication towers elevate antennas to improve line-of-sight transmission, extend signal range, and reduce interference from obstacles such as buildings or terrain.

What types of antennas are installed on RDA towers?

Common antennas installed on RDA towers include omni-directional antennas for wide coverage and directional Yagi antennas for long-distance point-to-point communication.

What industries use RDA communication towers?

RDA towers are widely used in industries such as oil and gas, water and wastewater utilities, power infrastructure, environmental monitoring, and industrial automation systems.

How do towers improve wireless communication range?

Increasing antenna height improves line-of-sight conditions, allowing radio signals to travel farther and maintain stronger connections between remote devices.
