Skippy the Palletizing Robot
SKIPPY is a mobile, collaborative palletizing robot that automates the back-breaking work of stacking boxes onto pallets. Built around the world-class FANUC CRX-30iA collaborative robot and mounted on IME’s heavy-duty mobile cart, SKIPPY delivers the performance of a fixed industrial robotic cell with the flexibility of a fully mobile platform. IME’s Zero-Point Docking System provides a rigid, repeatable origin at every station — roll Skippy to your line, dock it, and palletize within minutes. With a 50 lb payload, Category 3 PLe safety-rated hardware, and smart RFID station recognition, SKIPPY works safely alongside your team without bulky safety cages. Like all IME systems, SKIPPY arrives as a complete, turnkey solution with expert custom engineering, recipe management, and a full Factory Acceptance Test — ready to work the moment it arrives.
Description
SKIPPY palletizes boxes up to 50 lbs directly onto standard 48" x 40" pallets and can be customized to your exact pallet patterns and line layout. Its Zero-Point Docking System lets one Skippy serve multiple production lines — lock and go, with no reprogramming required when moved.
The Skippy Success Path
How It Works
- Roll: Roll Skippy to your production line and engage the Zero-Point Docking System, which locks the robot into a predetermined, precision-fixed point.
- Dock: Connect the retractable power and air lines to your facility drops. Integrated RFID sensors instantly recognize the station and auto-load the correct product recipe for that line.
- Palletize: Grab the teach pendant, confirm the auto-loaded recipe, and press start. Skippy begins stacking boxes onto pallets immediately, safely, and efficiently.
