Phoenix Contact Radioline Radios

Phoenix Contact Radioline radios use trusted Wireless 2.0 technology and support 868 MHz, 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz frequency bands. They cover a range up to 32 kilometers due to the high receiver sensitivity and adjustable data rates. Radioline supports both point-to-point connections and complex mesh networks with up to 250 nodes. They can also be extended with up to 32 IO modules. Radioline radios use frequency hopping, AES encryption and coexistence management.

No programming is necessary with Radioline radios. Simply turn the thumbwheel to assign the IO modules within a network to one another. For example, a digital input is set to IO MAP address 14 and the assigned digital output is also set to IO MAP address 14. The signals will then be distributed correctly throughout the entire system.

Radioline radios feature serial data mode, IO data mode, PLC/Modbus RTU mode and PLC/Modbus RTU dual mode. Serial data mode can be used to network multiple controllers or serial IO devices using wireless technology. This way, RS-232/RS-485 cables can be replaced. IO data mode enables easy IO signal distribution throughout the network. The thumbwheel assigns inputs and outputs easily without the need for programming. PLC/Modbus RTU mode allows IO modules to be connected to the controller directly via the integrated RS-232 and RS-485 interface by means of wireless communication using the Modbus protocol. PLC/Modbus RTU dual mode combines serial data mode and PLC/Modbus RTU mode.
